Fostering growth and collaboration for technicians in large technical networks
Funding bodies are increasingly looking to develop and nurture technical talent and providing opportunities to apply for funding and grants. Join our joint workshop to see case studies of successful applications from technical staff in our Institutions and hear from our speakers. Content will include:
- The importance of applying for funding
- Signposting for funding opportunities
- Where to look
- Resources and outline guidance of what a successful application looks like
- Networking time
These are exciting opportunities for your career development. The session will also feature networking time so you can meet technical professionals from our partner Universities who share some of the same challenges of being a technicians in a large organisation!

This is part of a series of three events hosted by University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and University College London in 2025. They are designed to support the collaboration and professional development of technical staff based in large networks at universities across the UK. The programme is in partnership with the ITSS through their collaboration fund.
These events will offer you the opportunity to learn more about outreach and community engagement skills; getting involved in grant applications; and further career development opportunities.
They will also provide you with the chance to meet and discuss these topics with technical staff from other large universities.
