CEB Robot Club Tournament
The Technician Development team were lucky to attend the CEB Robot Club Tournament. The Robot Club Tournament was a sold-out event, with participants cheering robots on through a series of battles.
DeuxBrie emerged as victor of the tournament, smashing every robot it battled into pieces. Bot-to-Go placed second, with its stylish hot pink exterior and deadly sawblade. Joker, with a trademark smile, came third place bravely attacking with its circular saw. Special mention goes to Flippin’ Spat for its grit and determination, persisting in battles despite taking a battering.
CEB Robot Club is a place for staff members, academics and students to learn practical engineering skills by building robots. It was founded by Anna Rudd and Josh Easy from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Sessions run weekly, leading up to a Robot Club tournament every May. Here, participants get a chance to battle other robots to determine a champion.
The Technician Development team helped CEB Robot club secure their Research Culture funding. Now there are plans to expand this to different departments across the University. This club is open to everyone, from beginners to experienced builders. If you want to get involved, please register your interest. Contact the Technician Development team for further information.
